Understated luxury; a perfect Symbiosis of Mud and a touch of Glam !
I was tasked with the interior design of this lovely eco development home in Penestanan, Bali. The three bedroom house with its gorgeous cob walls and recycled timber was still being built, meaning there was plenty of room to play with the interiors and choices that could still be made, and to work with the holistic design approach that I think is so important in a home: ensuring the architecture and interiors work in perfect harmony.
My client being a feng shui specialist had the additional requirement to keep in mind the flow of energy from a feng shui perspective, working with the five elements. Certain materials and colours being used in particular parts of the house to benefit from their favourable aspects. Resulting in a very calm and peaceful atmosphere.
All in all an interior design project that I’ve really enjoyed working on, creating beautiful wall niches, built-in sofas, designing the bathrooms and kitchens, the many corners to lounge in, playing with contrast of the rough natural materials and smooth metal touches.
The house is located on the wonderful eco homes estate of Mud Eco Homes, who are also responsible for the project development and its pretty architecture. A beautiful canvas to create the interiors for.
