How do you turn a dark reggae bar into a light, breezy beach club with a relaxed, summery vibe?
Studio Pure by Martje was commissioned for the interior design of the legendary Legend Bar on Gili Air, off the coast of Lombok, to give the venue a fresh new identity.
The existing structure was partly rebuilt and improved, while the heavy black, red, and yellow palette gave way to airy aqua tones, sandy nude hues, and crisp whites—bringing elegance, freshness, and a carefree beach-club spirit.

The outdoor cocktail bar now invites guests to sway gently on swings instead of bar stools, while rattan hanging chairs add a playful touch in the adjoining restaurant Tranqi. Here, custom-made patterned floor tiles and a sculptural built-in terrazzo sofa set the tone. At night, a glow of shell pendants and abundant rattan lights transforms the atmosphere into something magical.
On the beachfront, Bali-style umbrellas and white rattan balloon lights dot the sand, while triangular sails provide shade from the tropical sun.

The result: a beach club with effortless charm—the perfect place to sip cocktails, swing gently in the breeze, and take in Gili Air’s unforgettable sunsets.
